1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how RayCentral LLC ("RayCentral", "we", "us", or "our") handles personal information. It applies to our website, our mobile applications distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, our desktop software, and any related services that link to this policy (together, the "Services").
RayCentral LLC is the data controller responsible for personal information processed under this policy. Our registered address is 1209 Mountain Rd Pl NE, #12709, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States, and we can be reached at contact@raycentral.net.
By using the Services you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Services.
2. Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on which Service you use, this may include:
a. Information you provide
- Account details — name, email address, and password hash when you create an account.
- Support communications — the content of messages, attachments, and contact details you send us.
- Purchase records — subscription or in-app purchase status. Payments are processed by Apple, Google, or our payment processor; we do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
b. Information collected automatically
- Device and app data — device model, operating system version, app version, language, and time zone.
- Diagnostics — crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics used to fix defects.
- Usage data — aggregated, non-identifying feature usage that tells us which parts of an app are used.
- Identifiers — an app-generated installation identifier. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
c. Information processed on your device only
Several of our network utilities analyse your local network — for example device lists, IP addresses, open ports, and signal measurements. This information is processed on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly export or share a report.
3. Device permissions
Our apps request permissions only when a feature needs them, and you can revoke any permission in your device settings at any time. Revoking a permission disables the related feature but does not otherwise limit the app.
| Permission | Why it is requested |
|---|---|
| Local network / Wi-Fi | Discover devices and measure connectivity in network-utility features. |
| Location (approximate) | Required by the operating system to read Wi-Fi network details; we do not store your location. |
| Camera | Scanning QR codes for device pairing, only while the scanner is open. |
| Storage / files | Saving and exporting reports you choose to create. |
| Notifications | Alerting you to scan results, security events, or task completion. |
4. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Services and their core features.
- To authenticate users and secure accounts against unauthorized access.
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve reliability and performance.
- To respond to support requests and communicate service-related notices.
- To process purchases, subscriptions, and refunds.
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.
5. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following bases:
- Contract — to deliver the Services you have requested.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the Services secure, stable, and improving, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for optional analytics, marketing, and any permission-gated feature; withdrawable at any time.
- Legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting, and law-enforcement requirements.
6. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only in the limited circumstances below, and only with parties bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations:
- Service providers — cloud hosting, crash reporting, and email delivery vendors acting on our instructions.
- App stores — Apple and Google, for distribution, purchases, and subscription management under their own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements — where required by law, subpoena, or valid government request, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
- Business transfers — in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice to affected users and continued protection of your information.
Replace this list with the actual processors your apps use (for example, your analytics or crash-reporting SDK), since the app stores require third-party SDKs to be disclosed accurately.
7. No sale or sharing for advertising
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or comparable US state privacy laws. We do not knowingly sell the personal information of anyone under 16 years of age.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here. Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request. Crash and diagnostic logs are retained for up to 12 months. Records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal-defence purposes are retained for the period required by law, then deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
9. How we protect information
- Encryption in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher, and encryption at rest for stored data.
- Role-based access control with least-privilege access for our personnel.
- Secrets management, dependency scanning, and regular security review of our code and infrastructure.
- Logging and monitoring to detect anomalous access.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
10. International data transfers
We are based in the United States and our infrastructure may process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses together with supplementary technical measures.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy in a portable format.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — although, as stated above, we do not sell or share it.
- Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise a right, email contact@raycentral.net. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days, or within the period required by applicable law. You may also use an authorised agent, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
12. Account and data deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — a route Google Play requires us to make available outside the app as well as inside it:
- In-app — open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm.
- By email — write to contact@raycentral.net from the address registered to your account with the subject "Account deletion request".
We delete account data, profile information, and stored content within 30 days of verification. Anonymised aggregate statistics that cannot identify you may be retained, along with records we are legally required to keep. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel subscriptions billed by Apple or Google — cancel those in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
13. Children's privacy
Our Services are intended for general audiences and are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact contact@raycentral.net and we will delete it promptly.
14. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses strictly necessary cookies for basic functionality and security. If we add analytics or preference cookies, we will request consent where required and offer a way to manage your choices. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; doing so may affect some site features. Our mobile apps do not use cookies, though they may use local storage on your device to remember settings.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our Services or in the law. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. For material changes we will provide prominent notice — such as an in-app message or an email — before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Services after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
